I live in a very rural town in the Northeastern US. The location makes it very difficult to network properly (the closest association meetings of any kind are 3 hours away). I would like to leave the area and have been concentrating my search on those cities (large cities) where I would like to live. However, I find that the only responses I get from responding to ads (which I know isn't the best way to go about finding a job) are from companies in my "home" state. So, what do I do? I can't network properly, but are there other options? Would I be better off moving to the area I want to live and looking for a job once I get there?
